The start of 2025 has been a busy time for Brad Novak (aka New Blood Pop) with not only continued creating and planning towards a new limited edition screenprint but also an exciting solo show.
He's also made time to discuss his unusual journey to become a practicing artist. Lewis Creed, the managing editor of Craccum magazine recently contacted Brad to interview him, and hopefully glean for the University magazine's audience any advice he might have for young people trying to find their way in the world.
The result is a nice summary of how life changes can be made with a combination of desire, grit and happenstance.
Read the article here: 'An Interview with UOA Alumni Artist Dr. Brad Novak.
Novak credits his wife Katrina with introducing him to contemporary art at 'The Tate Modern', whilst on their OE in London in 2000-2001, and thereby changing his life forever:
"That visit was like a lightning strike, awakening my inner artist. I spent 2 hours discounting the quality of art, saying, "That’s crap, I could do that" and Katrina keep repeating “But you didn’t do it, Brad”."
- Brad Novak
Novak also has a number of limited edition screenprints that are near to selling out...
